Speaking at the grand celebration of Kabba Day 2025, Ejibunu emphasized the power of unity and collaboration in confronting the challenges facing the community, especially insecurity.
This year’s celebration, themed “Together Against Insecurity: Building Peace and Strengthening Bonds,” underscored the urgent need for collective action to ensure peace, stability, and sustainable development across Kabba and its environs.
Ejibunu reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to initiatives that will uplift the community through strategic programs in education, health, security, youth empowerment, and cultural promotion.
He disclosed that the Civic Centre project, currently budgeted at ?500 million, remains a top priority for the Union, noting that its completion will stimulate local enterprise, attract investment, and provide a vibrant platform for showcasing Kabba’s rich cultural heritage.
The KDU President General also commended the outgoing administration of Engr. Emmanuel Ajibero for its remarkable contributions in elevating the profile and effectiveness of the Union. In the same vein, he expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, for his support and timely intervention in resolving internal disputes within the KDU.
The colorful event drew an array of distinguished guests, including representatives of the governor, Hon. Oyibo Salifu; Senator Sunday Karimi (Kogi West); Chief Mrs. Toyin Omole; the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, Oba (Dr.) Solomon Dele Owoniyi, who hosted the occasion; the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Alhaji Tajjani Anase; and the Elulu of Mopa, HRM Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, among others.
The traditional rulers and dignitaries in attendance applauded the KDU’s sustained efforts in fostering peace, unity, and development within Kabba and across the Okun nation, urging all indigenes to continue supporting the Union’s vision of community-driven progress.
