In a dramatic display of intelligence-led policing, operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 24-year-old suspect, Nnamdi Stanley Chibuike, who concealed a fabricated Beretta pistol inside a loaf of bread. The arrest took place during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) at Koka Roundabout, Asaba, on November 6, 2025, at about 8:45 a.m.

According to the Command, the suspect’s suspicious behaviour drew the attention of officers, prompting a detailed search that led to the shocking discovery. The suspect, a resident of Ogbeowele Quarters, behind General Hospital, Asaba, is currently in custody as investigations continue to determine his connection to reported cases of armed robbery and kidnapping within Asaba and neighbouring communities.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, commended the RRS operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, noting that the operation underscores the Command’s commitment to proactive and intelligence-driven policing. He urged residents to remain alert and cooperate with the police by providing credible information, assuring that all reports will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
