Ondo Elders Rally Behind Tinubu’s Reforms, Says It ‘ll lead To A More Prosperous Nation

The Ondo Elders’ Movement for Tinubu 2027 has thrown its full weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s sweeping economic and structural reforms, declaring them the bedrock for a prosperous Nigeria.

Addressing trade union leaders during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting in Akure on Tuesday, the group’s Coordinator, Otunba Agboola Kelly, emphasized that the reforms though initially painful are already yielding tangible dividends across critical sectors.

“From the removal of fuel subsidies to the unification of exchange rates and the bold push for local refining, these measures are dismantling decades of systemic rot,” Otunba Kelly stated.

“Nigerians are beginning to see the light: reduced petrol queues, gradual naira stabilization, and a surge in investor confidence. The reforms are not punishment, they are prescription for recovery.”

He underscored early wins like the take-off of the Dangote Refinery, increased FX inflows through diaspora remittances, and the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, which has slashed transport costs for commercial drivers across the country.

The elders urged labour unions to partner with the government rather than resist, stressing that short-term hardships pale against the long-term gains of self-sufficiency in fuel, food, and power.

Otunba Kelly also commended the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), for his unwavering support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.

He noted that BTO has ensured the rejuvenation of the party through his deliberate interventions in the lives of party members who had hitherto been neglected, restoring morale and unity within the ranks.
