Why It’s Hard To Remarry After Ibidunni’s Death — Pastor Ituah Ighodalo

Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, Senior Pastor of Trinity House Church, has revealed why he finds it difficult to consider remarriage following the death of his wife, Ibidunni Ighodalo.

In an interview published by The Nation, Pastor Ighodalo admitted that the thought of marrying again has been emotionally challenging for him, even though people close to him have suggested it.

“I loved Ibidunni very much. I gave her everything I had. I don’t know if I have anything to give anybody again,” he said.

The cleric, who lost his wife in June 2020 after she suffered cardiac arrest in Port Harcourt, said he is content with his current responsibilities, especially caring for the children they adopted during their marriage.

Pastor Ighodalo noted that while he is not completely opposed to the idea of remarriage, he believes it might only become necessary when his children are older. For now, he says his focus remains on raising them and protecting their emotional stability.

He also mentioned that his children, especially his daughter, have expressed strong feelings about the matter. “One of them has warned me not to remarry. She told me, ‘You’re not marrying anybody again,’” he said with a smile.

The pastor explained that his children are not without maternal care, as they are surrounded by several women who play supportive roles in their lives, including their late mother’s personal assistant, their aunt, and grandmother.

Speaking on his ability to handle single parenthood, Ighodalo said he had always been involved in planning and running the household with Ibidunni. “There is nothing I didn’t know when my wife was around… she trained me well,” he said.

Pastor Ighodalo was previously married before meeting Ibidunni, whom he married in 2007 after the first union ended. Their marriage was conducted with the knowledge and blessing of church elders, he clarified.

The late Ibidunni Ighodalo, a former beauty queen and founder of the Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation, was widely celebrated for her charitable work, particularly in helping couples struggling with infertility.
