We were mischievously deceived by Kano Govt. – CUPP.

The Congress of United Political Party (CUPP) under the chairmanship of Muhammad Abdullahi Raji have exonerated itself with regard to the decision made by some its members which were said to be mischievously deceived by the government towards accept the validity of the concocted election which Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje emerged victoriously.

Muhammad Raji made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Kano.

He added that after the supplementary fabricated elections, with a bunch of questionable antecedents, under the complimentary underground efforts of INEC, which the members of the CUPP unanimously agreed that re-run was far from fairness, but at last, some fraction of members thronged to the government to accept the outcome of the election.

“We’re here to re-affirmed our supports to PDP of ( Abba Kabiru Yusuf) on the election base on our field data after the election even try to take litigation action by ourselves, we can’t but try to redeem our good names of our political parties, which we don’t want to take part” Raji reiterated

Raji added that the truth of the matter is our members were invited to the government house without telling the motive of the invitation, but at last their names and signatures ended up in newspaper pages drumming supports to Ganduje’s victory.

While highlighting on the contentious issue, Chairman of Nigeria Peoples Democracy, NPD, Yunusa Zakari Gaya said he was among the participants of government house gathering, but they were shrouded about the actual reason of inviting them, unknowing that some among the attendees were subdued towards supporting Governor Ganduje re-election victory.

Adding that, we didn’t receive some amount of money as publicly circulated but only given fuel allowances.

“To be truthful we were mischievously deceived by the state government” Gaya insisted.

On his part, Chairman PDC, Kano chapter, Sani Babawo emphasized that we are not part and parcel of the government house skirmishes.

“Among the 45 political parties took part in the just concluded elections in Kano, there are some among the union of political parties that have already joined the bandwagon of supporting Ganduje in which we are practically not supporting his victory” Babawo said.
