Lagos Lawmaker, AbduSobur Olawale alias Omititi, did not show any sign of sickness or any inclination that he might not return to base, when the delegation of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) left for Jos, Plateau State to attend the flag-off of the Presidential Campaign of the party on Tuesday, 15 November, 2022.

As they converged on the private wing of the Muritala Muhammad Airport to board aircraft for the trip, Omititi greeted the elderly among the delegates, particularly members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) on the trip as well as some of his colleagues from the Lagos State House of Assembly.

He saw a council Chairman whom he owed some money and he told him, “please send your account details. Let me pay you your money oooo.’

“Egbon, please don’t stress yourself. How much is the money self,” the council Chairman humbly countered.

He insisted that he must send the account details. “Send it jooo, no matter how small, it’s still your money,” he said.

“Okay, don’t worry, I’ll send it,” the council Chairman said.

In the plane and airborne, Omititi was cracking jokes with all.

“Please pay your transport fare here, no change oooo, pay exact money, I don’t have change ooo,” he joked mimicking bus conductors operating in commercial buses across Lagos.

On getting to Jos, and seeing the council Chairman again, Omititi insisted that he has not seen the account details he asked him to send. “I’m still waiting for the account details oooo,” he said and this prompted the council Chairman to send the account details at exactly 12.40 pm when the campaign activities were reaching high velocity in Jos.

Return trip to Lagos, a delegate revealed that the deceased lawmaker had indicated his intention not to make the return trip with the aircraft since he would be moving from Jos to Abuja.

It was not until the plane landed safely in Lagos that the delegates found out that messages had been dropped on their phones on the sudden departure of the Mushin lawmaker.

It was gathered that the lawmaker was preparing for the wedding of his daughter, which comes up in two weeks time, coming up precisely Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Already, the invitation cards have been printed and distributed among friends and associates, while the Aso-Ebi for the event has also been distributed among friends and associates of the family.

The death of Honourable AbduSobur Olawale alias Omititi is indeed painful to all who knew him, while on earth.

They can never forget his humble disposition and his heart of giving. Fare thee well good man.
