The PDP RESCUE HOUSE: #EndSARS: Why PDP Is Alternative To APC’s Unpopular Government By John Shuaibu

The memorial protest of the Nigerian youths against police brutality during the protest against the then Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigerian Police last year has further shown that the Nigerian youths are ready to take their destiny in their hands.

We in the PDP RESCUE HOUSE are using this opportunity to advise the Federal Government to address the root cause of the #EndSARS protests as youths around the country commemorate one year of deadly attack on peaceful protesters at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.

Operatives of the Nigerian Police and military attacked young Nigerians protesting police brutality at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.

Groups reported at least fifteen people, who lost their lives and several others who suffered injuries.

“While the demands of the youths are legitimate, we also think it is essential for us to deal with the root cause of this problem. Nigeria needs restructuring, and this includes our security apparatus.

“We firmly believe that if we have state police, we will significantly improve our security operations and create competition between state police formations trying to outperform each other.

“Our security operatives also need proper training and not just improved remuneration because increasing the salary of an unstable individual will not eliminate the chances of unfortunate behaviour.

“This is why the youth must take a stand and become active players in politics and not just tools for the elites.

“In 2014, the PDP administration put together the National Conference, where leaders deliberated and came up with solutions to Nigeria’s problems.

“Unfortunately, the APC government has refused to implement the recommendations of that conference, which include restructuring the country and our security system.

“2023 is around the corner, and the youths have the opportunity to vote in PDP, the only major party that has demonstrated commitment to implementing the 2014 constitutional conference report.”

In the heat of the #EndSARS protest, some state governors pledged to compensate victims of police brutality and set up the panel.

One year after, there is no record of any compensation being paid and the panel of enquiry has not yielded tangible result.

As Anambra election is around the corner, the youths should use this opportunity to vote PDP.

PDP has demonstrated through its candidate, Valentine Ozigbo that fresh ideas and youth vibrancy are vehicles to rescuing Anambra State from the failures of Willie Obiano-led government.

The attitude and inaction of APC-led government at the center clearly showed that Senator Andy Uba will be an aberration to even smell the gate of Anambra Government House.

PDP RESCUE HOUSE calls on all Nigerians to keep faith with our great Peoples Democratic Party that is more than ready to Rescue the Nation and get her working again from the APC ruling party ineptitude and inefficiency.

PDP! Power to the People.
