In a swift and coordinated response to last night’s heavy rainfall, the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) mobilized its emergency team to clear multiple fallen trees across the Ikoyi area, restoring access and ensuring public safety.

The agency moved quickly to remove a tree that had fallen along Alexander Road, clearing the way for safe vehicular movement. A second operation on McDonald Road followed shortly after, where another fallen tree was efficiently cleared.

However, the most complex situation arose on Bourdillon Road, where a large tree crashed into high-tension power lines. LASPARK, in collaboration with the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), arranged a controlled power outage early this morning to safely carry out removal operations.

LASPARK’s overnight efforts were part of a broader emergency response aimed at mitigating the impact of the storm and maintaining safety in the affected neighborhoods.

The agency thanked residents for their patience and urged continued vigilance, encouraging citizens to report similar hazards through the LASPARK emergency hotlines.
