Worried by the high level of hardship occasioned by the lackadaisical attitudes of wealthy Nigerians and our politicians to assist the less privileged in the society, the founder of Shafaudeen in Islam worldwide Alhaji Prof. Sabir Ariyo Olagoje JP has called on the government to find a lasting solution to the hardship of the poor masses.

Prof. Olagoke dropped this hint during the 2022 Ramadan Lecture of Wabilahi Taofeek Islamic Organisation For the Visually Impaired held within the school premises.

“In Nigeria, we are yet to functionally cater for the People With Disability (PWD) using the criteria of access to basic, quality and functional education, access to employment opportunities, marriage challenge without stigmatisation, mobility in transportation and design concept of built house and transportation system is yet to be PWD compliant,” he said.

Prof. Olagoke however, called on governments at all levels to make provisions for PWD, through a process of action to allow the budget to take care of them in their areas of need, saying that “they must not be forced to beg on the streets to survive.”

The event was witnessed by Imams and Alfas, while members of Shafaudeen Movement were also part of the event in large number.
