Officer Derek Chauvin In Custody

Officer Derek Chauvin, the fired Minneapolis police officer involved in the fatal arrest of George Floyd on May 25, has been taken into custody, according to the commissioner of Minnesota’s Department of Public Safety.

Protesters have been calling for Chauvin and 3 other officers involved in Floyd’s arrest to face murder charges over his death. All four officers have been removed from the force.

The charges against Chauvin have not yet been released. Minnesota law enforcement officials are making an announcement now regarding the case of George Floyd
