Mother Arrested For Selling One Of Her Newborn Twins

A woman was on Tuesday at the Akwa Ibom State Police Command in Uyo paraded before newsmen after she was arrested for selling one of her newborn twins(file image) for N90,000.00(ninety thousand naira).
The mother from hell, who simply identified herself as Sabbath was paraded by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Mike Okoli alongside other suspects, including a pastor and his wife who allegedly abducted a newborn with a view to sell the baby for N300,000.00(three hundred thousand naira).
ACP Okoli said Sabbath committed the heinous crime five days after delivery when she sold one of her newborn twins for N90,000.00 to two men, one Mr. Akpanam and one Mr. Samuel.
The suspect who regretted her action, blamed it on poverty.

According to her: ’It was poverty that led me into this mess. It is true that I sold one of my twins for N90,000.00 to Mr. Akpanam and Mr. Samuel to be able to train the other baby. My husband’s family should forgive me for what I have done, it was poverty that led me into this.”
