Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge toll collection resumes April 1
The Lekki Concession Company (LCC) says toll collection on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge will recommence on April 1, 2022.
LCC Managing Director, Yomi Omomuwasan announced that commuters will not pay the toll for the first two weeks until April 15.
He said there had been consultations with stakeholders including the Lagos government, residents’ associations, traditional rulers, community leaders and professional bodies.
Omomuwasan confirmed the introduction of new technology and innovations to make passages seamless and faster for commuters.
“We are replacing old toll devices with upgraded ones for faster throughput at the Toll Plaza.
“The new devices have been configured to synchronise with the newly upgraded tolling systems and will improve functionality while enabling a better experience”, the MD said.
The Lekki-Ikoyi toll plaza and the one inward Lekki stopped operations in October 2020 during the #EndSARS protest.
