KOGI CELL BREAK: Police Command Declare Dino Melaye, Mohammed Audu, Six Other Suspects Wanted.



The Kogi State Police Command, has declared wanted Dino Melaye, Mohammed Audu and six other suspects who escaped from its custody.

The escaped suspects were those who last week had accused Senator DINO MELAYE and Muhammed Audu of arming them ahead 2019 election.

Addressing newsmen in Lokoja, today in his office, the Commissioner of Police, Ali Janga, said the suspects alongside four others escaped from the SARS cell located in A. Division Lokoja,Kogi State.

The jail break he disclosed occurred at midnight adding that aside the two suspects, other high profile criminals in the Cell also took the advantage to escape.

Those who escaped according to the Police Commissioner are: Kabiru Saidu aka Osama, Nuhu Salish aka Small, Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed.

Consequent upon the escape, the Police Commissioner said the six suspects alongside Senator Dino Melaye and Mohammed Audu who were earlier invited in connection with the case of arming the thugs with the intent to cause mischief and political crisis ahead 2019 election but declined have all been declared wanted.

The Commissioner who described the incident as unfortunate said four of the suspects were earlier remanded by the court for planning to cause mayhem in the state ahead 2019, said the name of the suspects have all been sent to the interpol to track the suspects.

The commissioner said the 12 policemen, made up off seven SARS and five conventiinal policemen who were on guard at the A Division,  have all been rounded up and will be taken to court after investigation to determine their culpability.

The commissioner solicited the support of the members of the public, and described the escape as a planned work, said the escape was a connivance between the police and the suspects.

Janga said the Police will do all within his powers to arrest suspects, said all machinery has been put in place to fish out the  escapee’s. He added that the Inspector General of Police has sent in a high profile team from Abuja to help in tracking down and arresting the suspects.
