The political campaign posters of Kingsley Kuku, the former Special Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs to former President Goodluck Jonathan, and who had been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have flooded the streets of Akure, the Ondo State capital, a SaharaReporters correspondent is reporting.

Kingsley Kuku, outgoing Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme for the Niger Delta

Mr. Kuku is a wanted fugitive at the Abuja headquarters office of the EFCC and has gone underground for allegedly embezzling and fraudulently diverting hundreds of millions of naira in public funds from Amnesty programs for personal use during the Jonathan administration.

Mr. Kuku traveled to the United States, ostensibly to cover up his crime and had undergo a surgery operation on his knee at Andrews Sports, Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama, according to sources.

The Ondo State born politician had several times been invited for questioning over the allegations but as failed to show up in person with the fear of being arrested to face criminal charges.

Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesperson of the EFCC, has said the anti-graft agency was declaring Mr. Kuku “wanted” for allegedly refusing to honor the invitation by them for interrogation.

“He [Kuku] was billed to appear before the anti-graft agency on July 28 but he failed to show up,” Mr. Uwujaren said.

On Sunday, SaharaReporters gathered from street ushering that the posters was purportedly pasted overnight by desperate supporters of Mr. Kuku who are been financed, and to ostensibly create awareness for his political ambition to contest the next year’s Ondo governorship poll, alongside several other gladiators expected to race.

Our correspondent who moved through the streets of Akure found out that Kuku’s posters flooded major and strategic locations including frontage of offices, parastatals, and Government Residential Areas both in Alagbaka government offices, and NEPA/hospital and Oyemekun road.

The posters were branded with the color of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bearing his full name with the aspiration of becoming the next Ondo State governor come year 2016.

Impeccable sources told SaharaReporters correspondent that Mr. Kinsley Kuku had immediately fled Nigeria after President Goodluck Jonathan lost the presidential election had stayed behind in the United State of America financing his lackey through a ‘secret account’ for his governorship ambition in the State.

“Out of the money he had been sending, we have rented an edifice which is a campaign building in Akure and in the coaster side of the State for his political ambition to become the next governor of Ondo State.

“Go to the nooks and crannies of the State, our boss’ [Kuku] posters have flooded everywhere. He is going to contest and would win the Ondo election. Already, we have been gathering support for him despite the fact that he is abroad,” one of his supporters said.

When asked how Mr. Kuku would contest a governorship election while still having EFCC criminal charges hanging on his neck, the supporter gave a shocking response noting that his master would bribe his way out and contest the poll.

A human rights lawyer, Emmauel Adejoro, told SaharaReporters on the phone Sunday that some anti-corruption crusaders in the State are ready to ensure Mr. Kuku face the criminal charges in his neck considering his declaration as “wanted’ by EFCC.
