Kano Emirates Creation: CSO Call on Sultan of Sokoto to Wades in Kano Emirates Tussle.

The Renaissance Coalition in collaboration Civil society organisations have described the recent creation of new Emirates by Kano state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje with compliments of State Assembly is deceptive, personal and not in tandem with the overall aspirations of Kano people.

While briefing newsmen in Kano, on Monday, the civil society organisation under the auspices of Renaissance coalition as a move which is not far from subverting people’s interest for the benefits and selfish interest of a few.

In his speech during Abdurrahman Bappa Yola who spoke on behalf of the coalition said the emerging situation in Kano is condemnable and berates ganduje’s actions of they described as a calculated and personal vendetta to clip the wings of emir Sunusi for being outspoken.

“There are more pressing issues which deserved priority and urgent attention by the state government rather than to hell-bent on balkanization of Kano emirate into five fragments, which have no added value to the well-being of Kano populace as far as socio-economic development are a concern” Yola added.

The coalition of the CSO furthers say the state house of assembly was also to be blamed in this regard, towards complimenting Ganduje’s personal wishes to whittle the historic Emirate, instead of passing the numerous unattended bills that are more useful and worthwhile to the betterment of the entire Kano populace, but engage joining the bandwagon of realising what they called the wishes of governor Ganduje.

The coalition of CSO calls on the Sultan of Sokoto, traditional rulers and influential people in the north to call on Governor Ganduje to do everything at their disposal to reverse the creation of more additional Emirates in Kano for peace to reign and to preserve the the.long-standing history which Kano famous for over the years.
