Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, jetted out to France Monday night for medical care shortly after his campaign rally in Kaduna.

Atiku led his campaign rally in Kaduna on Monday where he urged Nigerians to vote for him to end the sufferings in the country he said were caused by the government of All Progressives Congress.

The PDP candidate and his APC counterpart, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, later ran into each other at the Abuja Airport Monday evening where they both exchanged pleasantries and threw banters.

A source close to the Atiku Campaign Council toldrevealed   that the PDP candidate left for France from Abuja to attend to urgent medical appointment with his doctors.

It would be recalled that a now estranged wife of the Nigeria’s former Vice President, Jennifer Jemila Atiku, recently revealed that her ex-husband was admitted in a German hospital for undisclosed medical condition.

Former Vice President Atiku until few weeks back when he emerged as the presidential candidate of the main opposition party was living in his Dubai home where many of his close associates said he had been running his businesses and political operations.

We also gathered that Atiku Abubakar relocated temporarily to Dubai after the 2019 presidential election for medical reasons and for easy access to his doctors in Dubai and Europe.

A source in his camp said: “Former Vice President travelled yesterday night to France where his doctors are waiting for him. He had to go immediately after rally in Kaduna because of the urgent need to attend to his health.

“He has health challenge he is managing and he needs to be in good shape as we go deeper into the campaign season. His handlers feel that he should attend to pending and routine medical issues as the campaign season gets more demanding and take further toll on him.”

We gathered that the Atiku campaign handlers and PDP will adjust the campaign activities to accommodate the period the presidential candidate will be away and it is expected that the medical trip will be a very short one after which he is expected to return to Nigeria to continue his bid for the highest office.
