It Won’t Change until We Change – Moji Danisa- Dawodu

I stood by my window one day and saw two men by my car parked outside. Those bowler boys, so I stood dey look dem to know what they were up to.

One was busy looking around to check if anyone was watching, the other one just went down and lifted the man hole cover like say na paperweight.

That heavy thing! I’m sure they had dug around it before hand. Well, they looked up and saw me staring at them. Nonchalantly, they dropped it, making malevolent eye contact with me. No fear, no remorse. E be like I just spoil legitimate business. I laughed.

Wait o, that’s not the end, we gave the cover to our security guard with instructions that he should hand it over if the city maintenance people came around. Big mistake. Security sef sold the thing. Only realised after he had been sacked and I went around the compound looking for the cover.

It is not hunger doing us, it is wickedness. Everybody believes that since those at the top are stealing, they too should take their share, even if it’s ripping off every facility provided by government, including rail track, man hole covers, street lights, rails off bridges, etc…it’s pathetic!

Oh, I just remembered now, how city officials came around and took away every street light in the area saying they were doing maintenance…those lights never came back.

I suspect they were allocated elsewhere where contract was awarded and marked as done.

What about NEPA? Something tells me there’s always one or two problems every week because someone wants to short change government.

How is it that transformers blow like fir crackers these days? It’s because they are inferior. You collect money for the superior and serve the inferior…and proceed to the Mosque and Church to pray and sow seeds with your tithe in hand. Una tink say God is cheap like dat?

Okay, you buy vegetable oil mixed with whatever substance, Palm oil adulterated with harmful chemicals, kpomo, chicken the rest pumped with very deadly substance, fruits forced to ripe with carbide, our brothers going to other countries to influence the production of fake and sub standard goods, including drugs! These are all what the Bible calls, wickedness in high places. Wizardry and witchcraft.

We all call it hustling. 10% kickback has been upped to 30% as we become more greedy by the day.
It won’t change, until we change.
