Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday led a state delegation to the GRA home of businesswoman Hajia Bola Shagaya on a condolence visit over the death of her mother Alhaja Sa’adat Abdulraheem.

In company of the Governor for the visit were the Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi and other members of the legislature; cabinet members; State APC Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi and other party executives and stalwarts.

The Governor had earlier issued a condolence message to commiserate with the Shagayas and the Bakinis of Ilorin.

At the visit on Tuesday, AbdulRazaq prayed Allah to repose the soul of the deceased and grant both Hajia Bola Shagaya and the Bakini family the fortitude to bear the loss.

“It is a solemn day for us today. We are mourning our departed mother. We pray to God to grant her Aljanat Firdauz and also give the entire family the fortitude to bear the loss,” the Governor prayed.

The delegation was received by Hajia Bola Shagaya, her children, and other family members, including Alhaji Sheriff Sagaya, and APC House of Representatives candidate for Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency Mukhtar Sagaya.

Sheriff, who spoke for the family, commended the Governor and his team for grieving with them, and for the love and confidence the State government has in the Sagaya family.

He specifically praised APC leaders for supporting the transparent process that produced Mukhtar Shagaya as a candidate for the Green Chamber in the coming general elections, praying God to grant the Governor and other candidates a resounding success at the polls.

“On behalf of the Shagayas and the Salman Bakinis, I thank you very much for coming. We also appreciate Your Excellency for the futuristic thinking which allows our brother Mukhtar Sagaya to be able to secure a ticket for the House of Rep. for Ilorin West and Asa Constituency. And we want to assure you and pray that victory will be certain for all of us at the polls,” Shagaya said.

“It takes someone with a foresight for you to develop Kwara the way we are experiencing. You (Governor) know where we are coming from (as a state), where we are and where you want to lead us. You can rest assured that we are right behind you. And with your leadership and support, victory is guaranteed for all the candidates, in shaa Allah (God willing).”
