Exclusive: NYSC Defies Principle of Social Distancing, Set To Hold Passing Out Parade For 2019 Batch B1

The principle of social distancing developed as part of ways of preventing the spread of COVID-19 Pandemic is about to be broken by the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), which is set to embark on passing out parade for 2019 Batch B1 of the programme.

In the scheduled dates released by the authorities of the scheme, it was stated that the passing out parade would hold between Thursday 28th May and Monday 1st June, 2020.

“Day 1: Thursday 28th of May 2020, state codes from 0009- 0887. Day 2: Friday 29th of May 2020, state codes from 0888 – 1506.

“Day 3: Monday 1st of June 2020, state codes from 1595- 6799,” the notice read.

It was added that “face mask is compulsory for each corps member coming to the venue and each corps member must come with his or her personal pen.

“Each corps member must leave the vicinity immediately after the collection of his or her CNS (Certificate of National Service). Corps members should be properly kitted.

“No group photographs of any kind and corps members must come with their NYSC identity card.”
