Brit singer Ellie Goulding has revealed she suffers from a secret heart problem.

The Burn singer admitted she’s had it for more than a year but chose to ignore it while she’s been travelling around the world on tour.

The condition has become so serious the fitness fanatic has had to give up any hard exercise.

“I found out I have this heart thing and I need to get it check out,” she told Australia’s Perth Now.

“I’m fine – it’s actually something someone discovered last year but I never got it checked out. Which is terrible, I have been playing with my life.”

Ellie Goulding performs during the 2015 AFL Grand Final match between the Hawthorn Hawks and the West Coast Eagles at Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 3, 2015 in Melbourne, Australia.

The 28-year-old singer – who is dating McBusted’s Dougie Poynter – has since taken a more “relaxed” approach to dieting and exercising, which she has found quite refreshing.

She added: “So I have been very relaxed, I have been chilling and not being as militant about what I eat. It’s nice to know you actually can’t go to the gym, you’re not allowed.”

The revelation comes as she was forced to shake off criticism that she was lip-syncing during a show at the AFL Grand Final in Australia on Saturday.

During her performance Ellie appeared to have bit of trouble when singing her Fifty Shades of Grey hit, Love Me Like You Do.

Some viewers then took to social media accusing her of trying to lip sync, but Ellie shrugged it off.

“Love it when people think I lip sync, what a rad compliment 🙂 Now where does one find a good veggie restaurant in Melbs?” she tweeted later.

While a statement was also released by Michael Gudinski, producer of the Toyota AFL Grand Final, said: “Ellie performed live vocals to a backing track.”

“This is a very common practice for performances in situations such as the Grand Final. Unfortunately a technical issue at the start of Ellie’s performance caused a brief hiccup but Ellie went on to prove just how much of a superstar she is, belting out two of her massive hits.”
