The Deputy Director, Contact and Mobilization South South Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council APC-PCC and Chairman Elders Advisory Council, Central Senatorial District, Chief David Lyon and his entourage were at Sagbama in Bayelsa West Senatorial District on February 14, 2023 for the Campaign flag off of the party in the area.

The entourage used the opportunity to urge the people to vote for the APC all through.

Lyon used the medium to thank and appreciate Bayelsa West electorates for their massive support for the APC in the 2019 polls.

“February 13 made it exactly three years when our mandate was stolen by the PDP through the Supreme Court. But, by the grace of God, we are very strong and healthy.

“They are calling themselves miracle government, we are the real miracle people, we will surely bounce back as a party and I want you people to please remain calm because the best is yet to come,” he said.

He then used the opportunity to introduce the candidates of the APC in Bayelsa West Senatorial District to the people.

“Please, know that the APC is the answer with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President.

“When it comes to Bayelsa West Senatorial Seat, kindly vote for Hon Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha; who is currently in Bayelsa State of Assembly Representing Ekeremor Constituency III, Hon. Micheal Bless Olomu as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, and those contesting for the State Assembly seats; Dumbo Selenana Yokoro; Ekeremor Constituency I, Olorogun Kennedy, Ekeremor Constituency II, and Akamu Alfred Arepade, Ekeremor Constituency III.

“Others are Ebizimor Ebikewenemor Romeo; Sagbama Constituency I, Highlife Peremobowei; Sagbama Constituency II, ans Eyi Matthew Excel; Sagbama Constituency III. It must be APC all the way. We have cause to celebrate in a bigger way in no distant future,” he said.

The entourage later left for Amassoma Southern Ijaw Constituency I to continue with Bayelsa Central Campaigns.

The campaign train briefly stopped at the Palace of HRM, King Oweipa Jones Ere, Ibenanaowei of Ogboin Clan, before moving on to the Campaign ground, where they were warmly received by the King and his council of Chiefs.

The same message was passed at Amasooma, and in attendance were H.E, Chief Werinipre Seibarugu; Chairman, Election Planning and Monitoring Committee, who doubles as Deputy Director Grassroots Engagement and Orientation South South Tinubu Shettima Presidential Campaign Council APC-PCC, Chief Olaitari Ikemike; Alternate DG, Chief Preye Agama; Youth Leader, Bayelsa State APC and who serves as Deputy National Youth Mobilization, South South Tinubu Shettima Presidential Campaign Council APC-PCC, and Chief Patrick Osunu; Former and 1st Executive Chairman, Southern Ijaw LGA.

(Dr) Williams Alamene; Secretary of the Campaign Council, Hon. Diriwari Godbless Ex-officio APC National; Chief Deizigha Thank God; member, Hon. Vivien Ere; Pioneer lawmaker, Bayelsa State House of Assembly and a member of the Central Campaign Council, and Dr. Tokpo Coronation Edward; Organizing Secretary, Bayelsa State APC and Director, Media and Publicity Directorate.

The rest are Hon Iyenimi Sling; a member of Council, Hon Ebikazi Gbefa; Chairman, Southern Ijaw LGA APC and all the candidates of the Bayelsa Centra.

The people were urged to vote for the APC from the Presidency to the State House of Assembly.

“Pease kindly note that February 25, 2023 is for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections comprising the Senate and the Federal House of Representatives. Then March 11, 2023 is for State House of Assembly elections.

“I want you to know that the APC is the answer. Vote Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President, Chief Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe for Senate, Hon. Preye Influence Oseke for Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency (re-election) and Hon. Ebipade Fikoweimo for Kolokuma/Yenagoa Federal Constituency on February 25 and Hon Ebiede Esquire Christian; for Bayelsa State House of Assembly Southern Ijaw Constituency, I on March 11, 2023.

“We believe in your capacity. You people did it in 2019 polls. We acknowledge and appreciate your massive support in the gubernatorial polls, when you gave us more than 90% of your total votes and we were elected under the APC only for the other side to buy our mandate and victory through the Supreme Court.

“They claimed to be a miracle government. We are the original Miracle people. They are self-acclaimed. Today made it three years and one day because it was February 13, 2022 that the Supreme Court judgment came and we are still standing strong here. We will bounce back with full force all what we want is kindly vote for the APC.

“One more thing we should know and note is that we have been too long on this train as Bayelsans with the PDP ruling the state for over 24 years with nothing to show for it,” Lyon said.

He added that it is troubling that the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics’ recently released Multidimensional Poverty Index and ranked Bayelsa State, an oil-rich state, as the country’s second poorest state.

He stressed that “Bayelsa State clearly lacks infrastructural development, access to clean and drinkable water, unemployment is high, there is high rate of diseases due to poor access to medical care, there is lack of access to credit facility, and we have a plethora of other challenges as a result of ineffective leadership, amongst other challenges.

“APC is the answer, APC at the center has done more than enough for our dear state, but here we are, our sister State (Rivers State) is a typical example. You can go and see things for yourself.

“On February 25 and March, 11, 2023 kindly Vote for the APC,” he added.
