The Federal High Court has adjourned the bail hearing of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to March 31 after a tense session marked by sharp exchanges between prosecution and defence lawyers.

At the hearing, El-Rufai’s counsel, Ukpon Akpan, pressed the court to grant bail, arguing that his client is entitled to his freedom under the law and needs time outside custody to properly prepare his defence.

But the prosecution pushed back, insisting the charges are too serious and warning that releasing him now could disrupt ongoing investigations.

After listening to both sides, the judge stood down the matter, fixing March 31 to deliver a ruling on the bail application.
