Timi Dakolo Calls Out COZA Pastor Fatoyinbo Over Sex With Church Members

Published

Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo has taken to his Instagram handle to call out popular Abuja based Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo who is the founder of The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) over his alleged sexual relationship with female church members.

In a series of post on Thursday, the singer called on members of the church to “try and find” these ladies and men who have at one time come out to say their truth but got shut up by the pastor and his “criminal lawyers”.

Alongside a picture with text written on it, Timi Dakolo captioned the picture, “COMMONWEALTH KO ZION NI…CHURCH IS SUPPOSE TO FIX BROKEN PEOPLE AND NOT CRUSH PEOPLE WHO SHOW UP IN CHURCH NEEDING GOD.

“DEAR AGGRIEVED AND AGGRESSIVE CHURCH MEMBERS, PLEASE USE THE SAME ENERGY YOU ARE USING TO CALL ME, AND THREATEN ME OR SLIDE INTO MY DM TO SEARCH FOR THIS VICTIMS AND ASK THEM WHAT REALLY HAPPEN. THAT IS WHAT JESUS WILL DO.”

The picture with text written on it reads: “From florin to Abuja to Lagos to Dubai to Port Harcourt to London and any city he visits, your pastor is leaving a trail of broken women, sexually abused and mentally strangled. From Avalanche to Gratitude, from Pastoral Care Unit to Host and Hostesses, from witty Inventions to Hospitality Unit. They are found in every department in that “Church”. He hand picks his victims and ruins them.

“So none of you wonder why a dedicated church worker or leader stop coming to church and don’t want to talk about it. Suddenly rumors start flying around the person being evil, I will tell you all straight up, all your branch pastors know about this evil going on for years and are part of it.

“Some of the victims they will threaten some they will pay off and some they will spur by isolating from the “Church Members”. Oga “Criminal Lawyer” always ready to do the dirty work behind the scenes just to drown the truth. Dear Church Members, try and find these ladies and men to hear their side of the truth before crucifying them or branding them evil. Trust me, their side of the story will SHOCK YOU.

“Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm? They have used that line to scam us well well. How we carefully uproot a scripture and give it an interpretation that soothes us without actually knowing the context with which it was said./ Both the congregation and the pastor are very much anointed. Jesus did not die two separate death. One for the pastor and another for the congregation. The House of God is a place of prayer not a den of thieves.”

It will be recalled that in 2013, a former church member Ese Walter had in a blog post revealed her alleged sexual encounter with Pastor Fatoyinbo in a hotel in Lagos.

According to her, the Pastor told her to feel at home and should not be “shy”.

She alleged that he told her to order for “alcohol, feel free and order what you want.”

Ese Walters said she felt guilty at first that she and the pastor were getting involved however, Mr. Fatoyinbo told her that he will  “ teach you a level of grace that you don’t understand.”

I’ve not made money from Nollywood – Dayo Amusa laments

Published

on

Actress and filmmaker, Dayo Amusa has lamented over not making any money from Nollywood even after shooting 12 movies and still counting.

Amusa in the interview with The Sun disclosed that she does other things that generate money for her but however expressed hope of making money from Nollywood someday.

“I do a lot of things that generate money for me. I have always done business even before I came into Nollywood and I am still in business. I came into Nollywood as an actress before becoming a movie producer and to date, I have shot 12 movies and still counting. Truth be told, I have not made money from Nollywood yet. After 12 movies I have not made the kind of money that I should make but I know I will make it. You see, there is a difference between making a huge profit and then, just getting your money back on your investment. I haven’t broken even” she said.

She also disclosed that her major challenge is that her movies are not yet being shown in cinemas.

“I love doing good movies and putting up good content. I think my major challenge now is that my movies are not showing in all cinemas in the country like I hoped and it saddens me. Their excuse is that my movies are indigenous and the titles are local but I am like ‘we get to watch foreign movies indigenous to different parts of the world yet subtitled and these movies are been shown in our cinemas so I ask the question ‘why can’t we encourage our local content?’ I want to believe that even if a movie is 100 per cent indigenous, that does not stop it from showing in cinemas as long as the movie is well subtitled.

“It has greatly affected me as an independent film maker, I do most of my productions from my purse. It is not like I get grants and it really eats moviemakers up when we don’t get the opportunity to showcase what we have.

“Even if they feel we are not getting it right, there is a way they can inform us that this is what you need to achieve this and that. But they just label it local content, indigenous this and indigenous that, giving what we do all sorts of names but the fact is, when you preview a job and story wise you have it, picture wise you have it, quality wise and artistic whatever you have it, then why the barrier? Why can’t such a movie be seen in all cinemas across Nigeria.

“But they are giving excuses that when cinema going audiences hear the title, they will not like it. Who says so? Yes, a title could have a very positive impact on a production but a title is a title, be it local or English or what have you. An indigenous title cannot stop a good film from flying at the box office,” she adds with emphasis.

Nollywood movies on ‘boy loves girl’ not helping Nigeria’s development, says ICPC chairman

Published

on

Bolaji Owasanoye, chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), says some Nollywood movies do not help Nigeria’s development because of the values they portray.

Owasanoye spoke during a national conversation on citizen ownership of constituency project themed “my constituency, my project” in Abuja on Thursday.

Referring to movies that focus on what he described as “boy loves girl” themes, the anti-corruption expert lamented that the wrong values about Nigeria’s cultural heritage are exported to other countries through these films.

According to him, such resources could have been put to better use by making films that portray ongoing development or influence the legislature into making better policies.

“Nollyood movies about boy loves girl not helping in the development of Nigeria. In Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa, I don’t need to tell you, Nollywood is it (popular). People know the actors and actresses more than I in Nigeria because I don’t watch. Now, we portray the wrong values about fetish customs. We could have exported something else,” he said during a digression.

“We could have exported information about development, citizens working together to challenge something that is wrong. We could have molded the minds of the legislature. That’s what I want you guys to look at. That’s what ultimately would lead to development.”

The ICPC chairman also disclosed that several constituency projects are rotting away in the country because of bad politics.

The event was organised in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency (NOA).

Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, wife Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos state governor, had similarly urged practitioners in Nollywood to make movies that will add value to the society and help keep societal vices at bay.
