Ryan Giggs invites brother Rhodri to his New Year’s party after four years of not speaking over Man United legend’s affair with sibling’s wife

Ryan Giggs has invited his brother Rhodri to his New Year’s party after barely speaking to each other for four years after the Manchester United legend had an affair with his sibling’s wife.

It is understood Rhodri has agreed to attend the shindig and patch up his relationship with his older brother after Ryan’s eight-year relationship with Natasha Giggs, who has since divorced Rhodri, 39.

The party is said to be taking place either at Ryan’s £4million mansion in Worsley, Manchester, where he lives with wife Stacey Cooke and their two children, or at a nearby restaurant.

As previously reported, Ryan, 42, now assistant manager at United, apologised to his brother earlier this year for the affair and the pair were spotted chatting in a bar in Manchester at Easter.

Now it appears they are taking things a step further by coming together for a major family event.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: ‘Both the lads want to patch things up and have done for some time – but neither would really make the first move.

‘In the end they’ve come to the conclusion that life’s too short, and what has been don’t can’t be changed now.’

Rhodri had previously said he would only consider reconciliation if ex-Welsh international Ryan made the first move and apologised for his actions.

The affair was first revealed in June 2011 when Rhodri’s wife Natasha admitted an eight-year affair with the former star winger.

Natasha also said she had aborted Ryan’s baby just weeks before she got married to Rhodri in Las Vegas.

She decided to go public in 2011 after Ryan Giggs’ controversial attempt to place a gagging order on Big Brother star Imogen Thomas after their six-month affair ended.

He spent £150,000 getting a High Court injunction against her.

However, his attempt to silence her fell apart after a sustained Twitter campaign that resulted in an MP naming him in parliament.

In January 2012, Natasha went on to Celebrity Big Brother, where she openly talked about the affair to her fellow housemates.

Natasha originally left Rhodri but the two later unsuccessfully tried to reconcile, and they divorced in 2013.

Natasha, 32, had a son last year with a new partner while Rhodri has also remarried and has a baby son.
