Controversy Over Reverend Mother Ajayi’s Absence From London Church…Why She Can’t Go To The UK.

+ Why She Can’t Visit London

Who is after Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, the General Overseer of Love of Christ (LOC) Generation Church, United Kingdom? This is the mind-boggling question that has been troubling many of her admirers and followers.

The highly revered evangelist, preacher, motivational speaker and philanthropist has become a subject of derision among some Nigerians living abroad, especially in the United Kingdom, where her church is based.

The church, which sources said is small, is reportedly located in Clapham, London.

Sources disclosed that Iya Adura, as Rev’d Mother Ajayi is fondly called, has a tax evasion case hanging on her head. The government of the United Kingdom is alleged to have found her deliberately misrepresenting the true state of her financial affairs to the tax authorities so as to reduce her tax liability.

She was also alleged to have included dishonest tax reporting such as declaring less income, profits or gains than the amounts actually earned, or overstating deductions in her income.

The sources further revealed that before the investigation of “the great servant of God” could be concluded, she was advised to leave the UK for Nigeria, so as to cool off for a while.

However, almost two years after she arrived Nigeria, Reverend Mother is yet to return to London. She is reported to fear being arrested and being jailed by the UK government, which does not spare anyone found to have committed tax evasion crime.

According to some sources who spoke with First Weekly Magazine, the fear of being arrested by the UK government was what prompted Reverend Mother Ajayi to move her annual conference; “Celebrating The Comforter” to the United States of America last year. And she has decided to host this year’s edition in Nigeria.

The sources also disclosed that the wealthy prophetess realized the severity of the case at hand last year. She was alleged to have attempted to visit London to attend the Christening ceremony of her grandchild.

However, she reportedly had a change of mind, when the feelers she got from the UK government indicated that she would be picked up and arrested once she arrived at the immigration border. So, she retreated into her shell and stayed back home.

It was also gathered that the woman was placed on visa ban by the UK Government over money laundering allegations, and that the resident permit of her daughter was recently revoked by the British Government.

The Ooni of Ife in Osun State, Nigeria, HRM Oba Enitan Ogunwusi allegedly pleaded with the British Government on her behalf, but it was gathered that the pleas were rejected.

Meanwhile, some people who worship in the church, owned by the wealthy prophetess, have become impatient with her disturbing absence from the church. Their impatience is gradually growing into anger.

Sources squealed that these members are now grumbling about being abandoned by their shepherd. They can’t understand why their spiritual mother would desert them at a time they needed her the most.

Meanwhile a source, who is privy to the happenings around Iya Adura’s life, dismissed the tax evasion allegation.

The source revealed that contrary to the rumour making the round, Iya Adura has no tax evasion case hanging on her head.

According to the source, the wealthy philanthropist is presently committed to establishing a church in Nigeria.

“People are just being mischievous. If Iya Adura has a case to answer with the UK government, why hasn’t her church been locked up? Just because this woman does not make noise about how her ministry is being run does not mean she is shirking in her spiritual obligation.

“Why should it bother anyone if she decides to stay in Nigeria? Those who are complaining about why she hasn’t been going to the UK should wait till when she completes the construction of her church in Nigeria. After that, they will quit wondering and asking baseless question”, he said.

Informants revealed that the woman, who was previously resident in London, is now domiciled in Ghana, adding that “her source of wealth remains questionable.”

My father not arranging a new wife for Buhari, says Mamman Daura’s daughter

Fatima, daughter of Mamman Daura, has refuted social media claims that her father is arranging a second marriage for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Daura, who is Buhari’s older nephew, is often described as the head of the so-called cabal that takes most decisions under the current administration.

The cabal is said to have asked the president to marry Sadiya Umar Farouq, the minister of humanitarian affairs, to spite Aisha, his wife of 30 years, over constant criticism of the clique.

The rumour was so strong last week with the purveyors picking Friday, October 4, for the wedding ceremony that never was.

In an interview with BBC Hausa Service monitored by TheCable, Fatima said her father and Buhari are monogamists.

Wallahi, it is a lie. It is all part of what I am saying about the false allegations against our father. He is not even aware of the rumours about the marriage issue because he doesn’t use the social media. They are both monogamous. Both my dad and the president practice monogamy. They are all lies aimed at blackmailing him. They keep falsely accusing him. It does not tally with reason,” she said.

Buhari’s wife has taken pot shots at the cabal in the past, saying those who did not campaign for her husband during the 2015 elections were the ones calling the shots in his government.

Fatima specifically denied the insinuation that her father was teleguiding the president, describing him as a shy person who only minds his business.

Asked if her father was indeed controlling the president, she replied: “I think the question should be directed to her (Aisha). If one would be objective, one would understand that they (Buhari and Daura) grew up together, shared the same friends and did a lot of things together, so if any one is appointed that is close to our dad, that person is also close to the president. They have been together and they do things together. Everyone has his own confidant that he listens to. I think that is the reason for the allegations. They are very close friends. They are also related by blood so there is no way you can separate them.”

She swore that her father is not the one controlling the president.

“Wallahi, it is not like that. You guys are journalists, you can investigate and see how our father is. He is a shy fellow, doesn’t talk a lot and hardly cares about other people’s businesses. Even we as his children, he doesn’t impose things on us,” she told the BBC.

“You know the president can seek his advice but he is not the kind of fellow that will impose or insist on something. He can simply advise and stay away at home minding his business. He hardly speaks, he is 80 years old. When you talk to him about the allegations, he says you should not bother yourselves, that God is clearing his sins by such false accusations. If you are reasonable, you will see that the powers being allotted to our father by his accusers are wrong. It is only God that has such powers. It doesn’t make sense.”

She said she feels sad that her father is being blamed for the goings-on in government.

“Definitely, it is sad to hear your father being wrongly accused. But for the fact that our father is solely dependent on God and we are also like that, it doesn’t bother us much. We see it as the price we have to pay for being loyal to the president, for being there for him and for supporting him. One day, the truth will come out,” she said.

N1.1million ‘Jesus Shoes’ with holy water soles and mini crucifix go viral

A pair of trainers dubbed ‘Jesus Shoes‘ — with holy-water injected soles coupled with a mini crucifix and drop of blood on the tongue to match — have begun to go viral.

The now-trending godly sneakers, which were created by MSCHF (Mischief), a Brooklyn-based creatives, sold out within minutes of being released online on Tuesday, October 8.

The MSCHF rebranded a pair of Nike Air Max 97 sneakers to implement the idea of walking on water with ‘Jesus Shoes’.

Nike was, however, not connected to the project in any way.

The ‘Jesus Shoes’, which are selling for as much as £3,000 (approximately N1.1million), contain holy water from the Jordan river in the bubbled soles, a steel crucifix on top of the laces of the right trainer and a red blob at the tip of each trainer tongue to signify the blood of Christ.

Each pair contains 60 cubic centimeters of liquid.

On the Stockx sneaker trading website the shoes are priced at $3,000-$4,300 a pair.

In addition to the holy water, which was blessed by a priest, there is also the biblical verse ‘Matthew 14:25’ — which accounts the act of Jesus walking on water — referenced on the side of the shoes.

The bottoms of the shoes are also dyed a reddish tint to mimic the shoes worn by popes long ago.

“We thought of that Arizona Iced Tea and Adidas collab, where they were selling shoes that [advertised] a beverage company that sells iced tea at bodegas,” Daniel Greenberg, the company’s head of commerce, told the New York Post.

“So we wanted to make a statement about how absurd collab culture has gotten. We were wondering, what would a collab with Jesus Christ look like?. As a Jew myself, the only thing I knew was that he walked on water.”

The company also disclosed that more of the sneakers will be available from October 22.
