Nigerians must vote out APC, says Shehu Sani

MShehu Sani, senator representing Kaduna central, has asked Nigerians to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) on February 16.

The presidential and national assembly elections will hold on February 16.

Addressing members of the Igbo Youth Peace and Unity Initiative in Kaduna on Wednesday evening, Sani alleged that the APC government had wreaked havoc on the people.

“We must not deceive ourselves, we must tell ourselves the truth, the nation is sick, the state is sick. Nigerians expected a better deal than what we are having today. People who begged you three and half years ago to vote them have turned themselves to demi gods,” Sani said.

“We have seen how poverty has ravaged the lives of Nigerians in the last three and half years, we have seen the killings, the level of bloodshed and violence, we have seen the division, the hopelessness, we have seen how a governor of a state have sacked thousands of people out of their work.

“How on earth do we give another opportunity to a man who has no human face, who has no human heart?”

According to him, the powers that be, want to unseat him to continue to enslave the masses.

“They want the seat of Shehu Sani in order to continue to enslave you. We are moving out of Egypt. Those people in power in Kaduna state represent the wall of Jerico that has to be pulled down,” he said.

“I am here seeking for your votes, support and prayers that we must not allow any stooge to take over the Kaduna central senatorial seat. If the governor of this state wants to compensate his boy, he should find a job for him, but not the Kaduna central senatorial seat.

“Kaduna central seat is not for sale, is not for a running dog, not for a puppy, is not for a puppet and is not for a hand bag boy. When you re-elect us into office, you are re-electing politics of principle, courage, bravery and value. You should not elect people who will go and do the bidding of their godfathers.

“Elect people who will do the bidding of the poor, the down trodden, the traders, the artisan, the mechanic, civil servants and the beggars in the street. It is unfortunate that our country, a very blessed one, but the leaders have identified with negative activities and evil actions.
“From the killings in Zamfara to Birnin Gwari, the killings in the north-east part of Nigeria and north central, of herdsmen.

“We have a duty to send a clear message to the leadership of the country that we can show you the way out just as the previous government was shown the way out of power.”

Sani was elected on the platform of APC in 2015 but defected to the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) after losing his reelection ticket.

FG may redesign 2nd Niger Bridge to prevent suicide

There are indications that the Federal government may re-design the second Niger Bridge so as to forestall anyone from committing suicide via the bridge.

The Federal Controller of works in Anambra, Adeyemo Ajani, gave the hint when he took members of the Abuja branch of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) on an inspection at the Ogbaru site of the 2nd Niger Bridge project in Onitsha on Saturday July 13th.

“What we have on the walk lane is our standard design but what the engineers are talking about is a kind of review. If we have to do abnormal design to take care of suicidal situations, it will require another design.

“There has been rapid progress on the project. The last time the minister and the vice-president came, it was 15 per cent level completion but today it is above 21per cent. When you look at it from the time the project started, we are now at 24 per cent completion.

“The main bridge has begun; we have done all the piling and the structures above water level have been done considerably. At the Asaba end, we have raised the structure to the deck up to 80 per cent.” Ajani said

His victim, a 31-year-old woman who came into his care after her mother “gave her as an offering” to him when she was still an under-aged teenager, had accused him of sexually assaulting her for 14 years (2002 to 2016).

While Pastor Paul Mukendi claimed that the victim is “motivated by financial gain” and fabricated the entire story, she stood her ground as the trial began on June 4.
