The four kingmakers of Kano have hired seven Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANs and 17 other lawyers against the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and others.
The kingmakers are Madakin Kano, Yusuf Nabahani; Makaman Kano, Sarki Ibrahim; Sarkin Dawaki Maituta, Bello Abubakar and; Sarkin Bai, Mukhtar Adnan.
The senior lawyers they hired are Lateef Fagbemi, AB Mahmoud, Adeniyi Akintola, Paul Usoro, Suraj Sa’eda, Hakeem Afolabi and Nassir Dangiri.
Other lawyers are a former commissioner for Justice of Kano State Maliki Kuliya, Nureini Jimoh, Nasiru Aliyu, Muritala Abdulrasheed, Aminu Gadanya, Ismail Abdulaziz and Sagir Gezawa.
The rest are Rashidi Isamotu, Oseni Sefiullahi, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Haruna Zakariyya, Auwal Dabo, Badamasi Suleiman, O.O Samuel, Fariha Sani Abdullahi, Yahaya Abdulrahseed and Amira Hamisu.
The kingmakers filed the suit on Tuesday at the state High Court against the Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Kano State House of Assembly, the Governor of Kano State, the Attorney General of Kano State and the four emirs appointed by the governor.
According to one of the reliefs they sought, the kingmakers said giving effect to the purported law has distorted history, especially as it regards to the positions they are holding in the emirate.
The top emirate council members further said their position is a heritage in trust for their respective clans of Jobawa, Sullubawa, Yolawa and Dambazawa.
Mr Ganduje on May 8 had created four additional emirates with first class emirs in the state, a move feelers said was aimed at whittle down the influence of Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi.
On Friday, a Kano High Court sitting at Ungogo ordered the governor to maintain the status quo and take no further action regarding the presentation of letters of appointment and staffs of office to the new emirs.
But the governor, between Saturday and Sunday, presented appointment letters and staffs of office to the new emirs, saying he was unaware of the court order.
The new emirs are Aminu Ado-Bayero, Bichi; Tafida Ila, Rano; Ibrahim Abdulkadir, Gaya and; Ibrahim Abubakar ll, Karaye.

The newly appointed managing director of Kano Roads Traffic Agency, Bappa Babba Dan-Agundi has honourably called on the roadside traders and illegal motor parks in Kano to vacate their present illegal spots of running their businesses to avoid the embarrassment of the law.
Dan-Agundi made the call while briefing newsmen at his office, on Friday, the first day of his assumption of office to head the traffic control agency.
He said roadside trading has become rampant and an eyesore in Kano, which has been a nuisance to passersby using the roadside pavement and also causing traffic congestion to motorist and other users plying the metropolitan roads.
“This trend will no longer be accepted and we’ll do everything within the scope of our official capacity to stop the anomaly, he added,
Adding that his agency will not spare the indiscriminate establishment of motor parks within the metropolitan area.
” Such quacks motor-parks patronised by gullible travellers are a menace and posing threat to passengers and their luggage, we’ll descend upon them in a nearby future” he confirmed.
Bappa Dan-Agundi further warns motorists and other roads users in Kano to desist from any form of tampering with the law while driving to avert fine that will serve as a deterrent to potentials defaulters.
He also enjoins the general public and all stakeholders to abide by the tenets of law to re-brand Kano city roads as rough-free driving and full of law-abiding roads users to the betterment of all and sundry.
Dan-Agundi was an Immediate Ex-majority leader of Kano State House of Assembly represented Kano Municipal constituency for a single four-year tenure.
Kwankwaso’s Comic Utterances, Unwarranted. – Ex-Lawmaker.

The Hon. Abubakar Zakari Muhammad, immediate erstwhile member of Tarauni constituency in Kano Assembly has urged the Senator, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to look upon his fatherly status in the state and national political domain to desist from devaluing his personality, through making utterances capable of tarnishing his hard-earned calibre.
Hon. Zakari made the assertion while speaking exclusively to newsmen over the weekend in Kano.
He said, the erstwhile Senator seems to be taking pleasure out of sponsoring hour-long, simulcast live, program with various radio stations in Kano, backstabbing Ganduje’s and his laudable projects in the state.
” In view of the utterances been made by the Senator Kwankwaso in those radio programs, one would easily and clearly understand that the former governor is gripped with obscurity syndrome,” He said.
Hon. Zakari added that, it is unarguably known that Senator Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is a hard-baked and consummate politician of national repute,
but he said “the way and manner he is comically responding to questions put to him is utterly disappointing and not in conformity with the status of the man of his calibre, close to thirty years of having political experiences.
He assert that, the former governor who is formerly known for sternly and irascible disposition, feared by his subordinates, but it has become trending and subjected to stylishly ridicule by the teeming press men interviewing him, whereby he comically responds randomly to the lowest ebb of his personality.
Adding that, Senator, Kwankwaso was a successful politician in almost all ramifications, but his misguided utterances has surely shown that he’s discontented and fell-short of realizing that God made him what he used to be, and he should let his successor on the corridor of power to heaved a sigh of relief.
“But still yet, he fails to comprehend that anything comes with time, and elapsed when everything reach its peak period” He added.
Hon. Abubakar, the flamboyant politician, who was part of the defunct Kano eighth Assembly urged the former Darfur envoy, to take solace, been a sure-footed politician who knows the sweety taste of election victory and swallows the bitter pills of defeat, and urged his die-hard loyalist to follow suite.
Adding that losing grip on power at the state and national levels, should not be a matter of disorientation to the extent of losing hard-earned credibility through unwarranted statements.
At last, Hon. Abubakar Zakari Muhammad fondly called ‘Habu P.A.’ urged urged fellow politicians to recall that God gives power and takes it to whom he wishes at any appointed time.
Emphasizing that hard times are not forever, and life is always not a bed of roses.
Emir Sanusi Sacks Jumat Mosque Imam
Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, has ordered
the removal of Malam Salihu Muhammed, the Chief Imam of Limawa Jumat
mosque in Kumbotso Local government Area of the state.
Muhammed’s sack is with immediate effect.
Muhammed was accused of flouting the monarch’s instructions on moon sighting and the eventual Eid prayer at the end of Ramadan fasting. The Chief Imam was said to have sighted the moon by himself and conducted his own prayer a day after that of the Emir who doubles as both traditional and spiritual head of the Emirates.
The Emir lamented that the Imam did the same thing last year and was warned against it.
Sanusi, however, said that the Chief Imam was sacked for being adamant. He added that Muhammed repeated the same action this year despite being warned against it last year.
Sanusi said he had no option but to replace him.
The sacked Imam has kept mum, refusing to comment on the matter.
