Peaceful demonstrators under the umbrella of the Kano First Forum, took the street in Kano to protest against what they regard as Governor Ganduje’s unwarranted reasoning towards the creation of four additional emirates in Kano.
The protesters, the Kano First Forum, have curses Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and the Kano State House of Assembly over the deliberate action towards clipping the soaring wings of Emir Muhammad Sunusi for been sure-footed and outspoken towards vomiting truth whenever the time warranted.
The protests presided by Dr. Yusuf Rabiu called on the state assembly and Ganduje to immediately retract the law, which they described as immaterial in view of numerous vital issues bedevilling Kano populace which are yet to overcome.
The demonstrators, holding placards with various inscriptions denouncing the creation the four rival emirates to belittled Kano Emir for what seems to be non-conforming with Ganduje administration ideals.
The protesters in the hundreds, who converged in Gidan Murtala on their way to government house, Kano to air thier grievances, were dispersed by the security operatives.
While addressing newsmen, Dr. Rabiu said Ganduje should not allow his personal interest to becloud his sense of reasoning to the extent of not differentiating between the Emir and Kano emirate.
” It is highly unadvisable for the governor to inflict his verdict on an Emir, based on personal friction, to affect the longtime reputation of historic Kano emirate” Dr Rabiu added.

The Commandant of National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano command Mallam Abdul Ibrahim said the State Commissioner of Police Mohammed Wakili is a hard-working law enforcement officer of national repute, who possessed hard-earn integrity, but goes beyond the confine of the law in the course of discharging his duties.
Abdul Ibrahim made the disclosure in an interview, while responding to newsmen in Kano sequel to the recent interception of drugs by Commissioner Wakili, which were publicly branded as Tramadol with no forensic evidence.
Abdul added that NDLEA and other agencies are an offshoot of Nigeria Police command enjoying the good working relationship, which laws have earmarked boundaries on how each agency should discharge its statutory duty without trespass.
Adding that supposed drugs apprehended and exhibited by Wakili to members of press without proper forensic verification, were not Tramadol, is an anti-inflammatory drug which serves the same purpose with “Feldene”.
” The problem with Wakili is, he has a good intention, but he doesn’t know how to policed illicit drugs, his work stops when he makes an arrest he supposes to take drugs case to the experts” Abdul added.
The Kano NDLEA Boss added that his agency has a constitutional superiority to take drug-related cases to federal high court under section 26 of the Nigerian constitution, not the police.
“Had it been Police have been abiding by the due protocols all this infraction could have been averted, we are friendly with Police in all where I served, in case of Wakili he has never transferred case to us” Kano commandant assured.
Mal. Abdul Ibrahim recalled that sometimes ago, Commissioner Wakili claimed to have apprehended two trucks of Tramadol, and he said it is practically not possible to see Tramadol in such magnitude, and one carton of Tramadol is 16 million Naira.
“He said he conveyed that illicit drugs to NAPDAC when we followed the case, we were shown substandard, fake and anti-malaria drugs, if for instance I asked CP Wakili to produce the two trucks, if he can’t he would be charged to court for tampering with exhibits” He added.

The Renaissance Coalition in collaboration Civil society organisations have described the recent creation of new Emirates by Kano state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje with compliments of State Assembly is deceptive, personal and not in tandem with the overall aspirations of Kano people.
While briefing newsmen in Kano, on Monday, the civil society organisation under the auspices of Renaissance coalition as a move which is not far from subverting people’s interest for the benefits and selfish interest of a few.
In his speech during Abdurrahman Bappa Yola who spoke on behalf of the coalition said the emerging situation in Kano is condemnable and berates ganduje’s actions of they described as a calculated and personal vendetta to clip the wings of emir Sunusi for being outspoken.
“There are more pressing issues which deserved priority and urgent attention by the state government rather than to hell-bent on balkanization of Kano emirate into five fragments, which have no added value to the well-being of Kano populace as far as socio-economic development are a concern” Yola added.
The coalition of the CSO furthers say the state house of assembly was also to be blamed in this regard, towards complimenting Ganduje’s personal wishes to whittle the historic Emirate, instead of passing the numerous unattended bills that are more useful and worthwhile to the betterment of the entire Kano populace, but engage joining the bandwagon of realising what they called the wishes of governor Ganduje.
The coalition of CSO calls on the Sultan of Sokoto, traditional rulers and influential people in the north to call on Governor Ganduje to do everything at their disposal to reverse the creation of more additional Emirates in Kano for peace to reign and to preserve the the.long-standing history which Kano famous for over the years.

The newly-appointed Emir of Bichi, Alh Aminu Ado Bayero said it was not his wishes for Kano emirate to be fragmented into five, but is a changed from God which has to be accepted by all in good faith.
The newly- crowned Bichi Emir made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Kano on Wednesday.
He added that power belongs to God, gives it to whom he wishes, at anytime of the day or night.
Emir Aminu Ado Bayero asserted that since colonial times emirs were in-charged and in total control of government establishments under native authority, up to the time where traditional were regarded as advisers and mere traditional fathers.
“Change is permanent in life, even though, it is not my wishes to see Kano emirate been fragmented to five, but is a will of God, and no one has a power to change it” Bichi emir added.
While asked about his rapport with the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sunusi II, Alh Aminu Ado Bayero added that “he is my blood-brother, and everyone knows I’m among the early callers who paid homage and expressed total submission when he was announced as the newly- crowned emir of Kano, after the demise of our late father, Alh. Ado Bayero”
His Highness Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero added that, as a true Muslim who believes in fate and destiny, he would accept every outcome discharge by the almighty Allah.
While responding to the question regarding the court ruling regarding the appointment of four emirs in Kano which command both parties to maintain the status quo pending the next court ruling, the Bichi emir said that is the first time he heard about the development.
“I will accept whatever might be the outcome, it is only God that gives and takes, there is no cause to worry” he added.
Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero, an emir of Bichi, who was newly turbaned by Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje due to the amended law passed by the state house of assembly which resulted to the splitting of Kano emirate into five which includes Gaya, Rano, Karaye Bichi and itself, the historic emirate of Kano.
