IBB’s Inlaw, Chief Okogwu Dies

Elder Brother to late former First Lady, Mrs. Maryam Babangida, Chief Sunny Okogwu is dead. Chief Okogwu, the Ojise of Asaba passed on Saturday 29 September 29, 2018. The news of his demise was received with utter shock and grief.
We gathered that late Chief Sunny Okogwu, a prominent traditional in Delta State, was an outstanding businessman and philanthropist who uplifted many lives and empowered teeming youths and women. Many successful businessmen, politicians, and career military men of today, among others, were reported to be the products of his sound mentorship.
He spent most part of his life in Kaduna at the “Ship House”, an imposing edifice he built over 30 years ago with a marveling architectural design.
His Kaduna residence became a Mecca of sorts for the needy and downtrodden who sought various kind of aids. His marriage to Mrs. Rosalyn Priscilla Okogwu nee Egbagbe, who passed on in 2014, is blessed with a son and three daughters.
His first child, Maureen is a renowned fashion designer. His second child, Rebecca, is a reputable business woman who runs an events-planning company in Abuja. His only son Christopher, is a senior staff of a government parastatal in Abuja; while Elizabeth, his last child, is a medical doctor.
The detribalized icon is also survived by two sisters Hajiya Hadiza King and Hajiya Jummai Sambo. Chief Okugwu, is survived by many 10 grandchildren.
