In a letter released to First Weekly on Thursday, the Erelu of Mopa described Adeyemi as “blessed” to have been given the opportunity to serve Kogi West for a record third term in the senate.

Ronke Bello, trained in Ivy league schools, noted that Kogi West parades some of the best educated, civilized achievers and prayed that Smart Adeyemi does not self destruct.

“Permit me to extend my kind wishes to you as you take on the mantle to represent the good and hospitable people of Kogi West and that which makes you the foremost political leader in the senatorial district.

“Very few have been so blessed to represent a nation’s minority race but one that boasts of some of the best educated, civilized achievers … globally.
We stand tall and bring our full heights to bear in the fields of medicine, academia, the media, public service and in the private sector. Okun especially, is found everywhere!

“You are blessed to be representing us a third time! Very few have been so blessed! I pray you do not self destruct!

“I pray you represent us well, far and higher than your previous two terms and when you were Chair of the umbrella body the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

“Being a one time broadcast – journalist myself in the very early days of my career, I and others are cheerful to see you take on another assignment for our constituency, our people, the state and the nation in general. Pray you represent us very well, far and higher than your previous two terms.

“Many issues that can bring relief to our people await your push; our roads, our education sector, the on going bill on a North Central Development Commission et al.

“We are a blessed people, great communities that have had a history of peaceful co-existence and huge community service. Our people simply need to regain confidence in our leaders that the best can still come. Please be part of that best!

“I wish you a good, vibrant and most importantly an impacting  representation,” she wrote.
