Hon.Gbajabiamila Appoints Rurum, Goro and Others to Head Committees.

The speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has appointed 12 members from Kano state as chairmen of various committees.

Mr Gbajabiamila released the names on Thursday evening.

According to the list, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum(Rano.Kibiya/Bunkure) Pension, Sha’aban Sharada (Kano Municipal) National Security and Intelligence committee while Aminu Sulaiman Goro (Fagge) still heads the chairmanship of Tertiary Institutions committee.

Others are Munir Babba (Kumbotso); Agricultural colleges and institutions, Mahmoud Abdullahi (Albasu/ Gaya/Ajingi); Petroleum resources (downstream), and Nasiru Ali Ahmed (Nassarawa); Public procurement.

The rest are Ali Muhammad (Wudil/Garko); Labour, employment and productivity, Abubakar Kabir Abubakar (Bichi); Works, Kabiru Idris (Kura/Madobi/Garun Malam); Civil Society and Development Partners, Mustapha Dawaki (Dawakin Kudu/Warawa); Housing and Habitat,Sani Bala (Tsanyawa) Public service matters, and Tijjani Jobe (Tofa/Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa); Rural Development.

JUST IN: Kano State Assembly Passes Bill To Creates New Emirates

The Kano State House of Assembly has endorsed the Kano Emirates Council Bill 2019, which seeks to create four additional emirates in the state.

First Weekly Magazine, recalled that the bill was sent to the House on Monday by the state Executive Council.

However, the house was in a rowdy session during debate on the bill on Wednesday at plenary and subsequently went into a closed-door session.

Kano State House of Assembly Divides On New Emirates.

Kano State House of Assembly was in a rowdy session on Wednesday, when members were sharply divided during a debate over the establishment of the new emirates bill sent to the house members by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

It was reportedly said that some members disagreed over the bill during the debate at the Assembly.

However, the Assembly members resists to agree on the passage of the new Emirate Council Bill 2019, which was sent by Ganduje to restore the four emirates that were dissolved by a Kano high court.

The Assembly members were said to have spent almost three hours in a secret session, ruminating the bill but failed to reach an agreement

The Kano State Government approved a new bill to restore the four emirates in Bichi, Rano Karaye and Gaya, after their nullification by a Kano High court.

Meanwhile, the House has adjourned till Thursday 5th December 2019 to continue debating on the bill.

Appeal Court Uphold Ganduje’s Electoral Victory.

The Kaduna Division of Appeal Court on Friday upheld Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s electoral victory.

Reading the lead judgment on Friday, Justice Tijjani Abubakar in a unanimous ruling said Ganduje was duly elected

It can be recalled that the election petition tribunal led by Justice Halima Shamaki on October 2 upheld the election.
