Fighting Corruptions in Nigeria is a Collective Endeavour- Commissioner ICPC, Kano Command.

The state commissioner of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences (ICPC) Kano command Mallam Zayyanu, Dan-Musa said his commission has spread its tentacles to public and privates sectors in order to fight corruption to the barest minimum.

Mallam Dan-Musa made the disclosure on Thursday in Kano during series of events to commemorate African Union Anti-Corruption Day.

He said due to pervasive effects on Corruptions in our daily lives, giants strides have to be made with different public sectors curb the menace.

“As part of the strategies to fight and enlighten the public with regards to dousing the spread of corruption, the commission is launching various clubs, which encompassed students, civil and public servants ” He added.

Adding that, the strong synergy is urgently needed by his commission and other relevant stakeholders to see that the general public is fully educated on how to compliments ICPC’s efforts to fight corruptions and other related offences down to its knees across the federation.

As parts of the activities marking the African Union Anti-Corruption Day, Professor Bello Ibrahim of Sociology department, Bayero University Kano presented a paper titled “Opportunity Cost of Corruption, The Value Added Recovery”

During the presentation, Professor Bello highlighted how corruption compounded in all facets of our daily endeavours.

He said among the core factors are the subjective and selfish interest of accumulation of worldly materials by any means possible.

Adding that ICPC alone will not subdue corruption, all hands must be put on deck to resolve the disastrous effects of the menace.

As parts of the commemorative events to mark the day, road-trekking was held from Kano/Jigawa Custom office at Club road to newly commissioned office at Audu Bako Way, accompanied by the musical bands, youth corps members and staff of the ICPC.
