Veteran journalist and media entrepreneur, Prince Bisi Olatilo, was the subject of a flurry of encomiums from the crème de la crème in business in Lagos on Friday as he marked the 20th anniversary of his popular social event programme, Bisi Olatilo Show.

The event which coincided with the launch of his book, ‘The Art of High Society,’ at the Balmoral Hall of Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, attracted prominent Nigerians.

They include a former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel; Senator Ben Bruce; Senator Oluremi Tinubu; advertising icon, Biodun Shobanjo, who was chairman on the occasion; a former President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chief Nike Akande, and Bola Shagaya.

Other dignitaries who added glamour to the event were Otunba Alex Onabanjo, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Erelu Dosunmu, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, Chief Rasaq Okoya, Chief Alex Duduyemi, Chief Michael Ade Ojo, Dr Toyin Okeowo, Dr Mike Inegbese, traditional rulers, among others.

Shobanjo commended the former presenter with Radio Nigeria for going into private practice.

“Here is a man who can speak the three main Nigerian languages. He was one Nigerian who read the news in the three major Nigerian languages. “Just like me, he jumped ship, took a leap of faith to start his own private practice. Then, he used to cover events alongside a cameraman. He converted it into a commercial proposition and (it) has become what we know as BOS.”

Akande lauded Olatilo’s contribution to the media space. Also speaking, a former presidential spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati, who reviewed the book, noted that it was written in a lucid and precise prose.

Awards of recognition were also presented to eminent Nigerians who contributed to the brand.
